Using LinkLint
Common questions
What can LinkLint check?
LinkLint supports Apple AASA, Android Asset Links, OIDC and OAuth settings. It checks whether files exist, whether their format is valid, whether App IDs match and whether URL rules apply.
Why does a file that opens still show a warning?
The file may only work after a redirect, fallback path, HTTP request or retry. LinkLint warns you because a direct HTTPS response is the expected setup.
What do the result statuses mean?
PASS means the check passed. WARNING means the file works but should be improved. FAIL means there is a clear problem. NOT CONFIGURED means the expected file was not found. UNKNOWN means there is not enough information.
Does a passing check mean the App will open?
Not always. The final behavior also depends on the App settings, signature, installation state, system cache and user settings.
Does store information affect the check result?
No. App Store and Google Play information only helps identify the App. It does not change the link configuration result.
Why is store information missing?
The App may not be available in the selected region, or the store may be temporarily unavailable. Google Play page changes can also require a parser update.
Where should I start when a scan fails?
First check the domain or issuer you entered. Then review the HTTP status, redirects and response. Finally, confirm the Bundle ID, Package Name or certificate fingerprint.
