How LinkLint handles your data

This page explains what the App, website and fallback store lookup process.

Effective: August 27, 2026 · Last updated: August 27, 2026

1. What the App processes

LinkLint processes the domains, URLs, issuers, App IDs and local files you choose to check. Unless you share them, this information and your scan history stay on your device.

When a network check starts, the target website receives a normal request and may see your IP address, request time, User-Agent and requested URL. LinkLint does not send website accounts, cookies or browsing sessions.

  • No account is required.
  • Scan reports are not automatically uploaded or synced.
  • Local and private network addresses are blocked by default.
  • Response size is limited.

2. Optional App Store and Google Play lookups

When store lookups are on, LinkLint sends the public Bundle ID or Package Name, selected region and App language to Apple or Google. This is used to show the App name, icon and related details. It does not change the check result.

If a direct store request has a network or parsing error, LinkLint may try the fallback service once. The fallback receives only the same App ID, region and language, not the scan response.

  • App Store and Google Play lookups can be turned off in Settings.
  • A not-found result does not trigger checks in other regions.
  • Google Play information comes from its public page and may be temporarily unavailable after page changes.

3. Website and fallback service

Cloudflare delivers and protects this website. It processes standard network information such as IP address, User-Agent and request time. The website has no ads, tracking cookies, external fonts or third-party scripts.

The fallback API checks its inputs, limits request frequency and caches results for a short time. The application code does not intentionally store full IP addresses, User-Agents or raw store responses. Cloudflare may process service logs under its configured settings.

  • Only public App IDs, region and language are accepted.
  • The service does not accept arbitrary URLs and is not a general proxy.
  • Temporary errors are not cached for long periods.

4. Support email

When you contact support, the email provider processes the address, message and attachments you send. Only include what is needed to solve the problem. Do not send passwords, tokens, cookies, private keys or confidential content.

Messages are kept only as long as needed to reply, maintain the service and meet legal requirements.

5. Third-party services

Cloudflare provides website delivery and security. Apple and Google provide optional store information. Email providers handle support messages. These services may process information in other countries or regions.

6. Your choices

You can turn off store lookups in Settings and delete recent scans inside LinkLint. Uninstalling the App also removes its local data through the operating system.
